I am often approached by curious people who are thinking about starting on the road to the guitar and joy at the crossroads of deciding whether to take the Ulta-amplified electrical path neo-tech, modern, or natural, green procurement, acoustics.

Basically, "Should I start with acoustic guitar or electric? "My answer is always the former. Here's why.

First, the purchase of an electric guitar also means buying an amplifier, maybe some effects, and some cables. And good power are comparable in price to good acoustics, so too will the guitar, but much more in the accessories needed to play it (and good sound). Therefore less startup capital.

Second, portability. For the reasons already mentioned, Once you buy all those things, then you have to remove it with you wherever you want to play. No playing on the beach, unless you do NOT want people listening.

Third, technical capacity. That's right. Start at the acoustic guitar, and you will be a much better player. Why?

Well, it is more difficult. Most of the acoustics are just more difficult to play. So if you can do your best and play nicely acoustics, you're gonna get out of the park when playing an electric!
