Cézanne
Born in 1839, Paul Cezanne was the illegitimate son of a prosperous hat retailer. As a child, he was an excellent student, but not very sociable. At age 20, he studied law for one year before declaring his interest in art his father, who dominates. He was finally allowed to travel to Paris to study art, but after six months, the self-doubt leading to episodes of depression forced him to return home. He worked for his father for a year before trying to resume his career in art.
Cézanne returned to Paris and Sat, but failed the entrance examination to the Ecole des Beaux-Arts, the school official painting. He lived off an allowance from his father, continues to paint, and subject to annual exhibition of paintings of the show, but they were rejected repeatedly.
Cezanne's character was shy and argumentative. It could be deliberately awkward in society. While in his twenties, he became known as an eccentric by his fellow artists, Degas, Manet, Renoir. He hated any form of interference, which developed a pathological dislike of being touched. His paintings and 1860 were morbid and sexual. They usually represented bodies, murder, rape and orgies.
At the age of 30 years, Cézanne met Hortense, a young model and seamstress, who became his mistress. He gradually abandoned the macabre subjects, and turned to painting landscapes and, more recently life.
In 1872, Hortense was a son of Cezanne, but he did not tell his father, he was terrified. Cezanne spent the next two years, students Camille Pissarro, followed by a solitary existence ten years. In 1886, his father died, leaving a significant legacy. Now a rich man Cézanne withdrew further into his shell, and generally cut from the outside world.
When Cézanne was in his 50s, the art dealer Ambroise Vollard discovered his work and has organized an exhibition. Two years later, Vollard visited Cezanne's studio, and I bought all the tables.
In later years, Cezanne, his health deteriorated, until one day in 1906 when, irritated by a slight increase in the cost of the car, it serves to move, he gave-up the car. He got soaked in a downpour, and died of pneumonia a week later.
Cézanne taught the techniques of impressionism by Pissarro, but adapting them. It was not interested in imitating the real world. His brush strokes were regular rectangles, arranged in parallel to form a uniform pattern throughout its paintings. He has tried to emphasize the flat, two-dimensional painting on canvas. He exploited the phenomenon, where an advance by the Warm colors and cool colors recede as a unique alternative to modeling subjects / objects of light and shadow. He also tried to represent depth by overlapping spots of paint, so that only color that can appear in front of the other. The objects were always shown in different angles, and in his still lifes, articles often seem to be on the verge of sliding off the table. Impatient and uncomfortable with people he also found it difficult to paint.
Cezanne is another eccentric artist of the nineteenth century which is considered as a "great" artist. It is recognized as the father of modern art, and paving the way for abstract art.
Cezanne I do not consider to be a great artist. Its dependence on the single technique of color temperature of forward depth, and the abandonment of light, shadow and perspective, is a step back to flat pre-Renaissance art. I also its inability to fight against a wide subject to a major deficit in his artistic ability.
