How I can get the most distortion of my amp?

I am a beginner on guitar, and just purchased Squier Standard Stratocaster and a Fender Frontman 10G Amp. The guitar has a volume control and 2 tone controls. The amplifier has a button for each volume, treble, bass, and win all ranging from 1 to 10. No pedals or affects, which would be the best way to organize these controls to get a good distorted sound of metal (such as Trivium and Pantera)? Also, could you recommend a pedal to achieve this sound? I know I will not be able to sound like Dimebag with this team. I'm just giving an example of the overall sound I'm looking for.

Does the manufacturer suggested retail price is usually the selling price?

Fender has announced the price of Squier Stratocaster used in Rock Band 3. http://admin.fender.com/rockband3/exclusive/ That's a lot of money. So I was wondering if the price recommended by the manufacturer usually becomes the selling price or if it reduces / increases. How it works the system?

MSRP stands for Manufacturer Suggested Retail Price. Depending on the market and if the manufacturer has "controlled circulation", the price may vary. In normal situations, the actual sale price is below that recommended by the manufacturer due to competition. There is always someone willing to sell a little less (including if you are paying the same wholesale price) to get more sales. In the "protected markets" or "controlled distribution" situations, manufacturer may refuse to sell any more product to retailers who sell below the MSRP. They do this because the feeling that helps keep the value highest mark. Some manufacturers set a suggested retail price arbitrarily high, so when someone gets the product at a lower price, they think they are getting a "good deal".
