If I understand correctly, you want to record your guitar and keyboard simultaneously through different ports midi on your computer and you do not have a computer yet. I know of no mixing you afford that capacity. In fact, I can not even think of an interface USB computer that has two MIDI ports on it. If you want professional-sounding recordings, then yes a broadcast-quality sound card is required. A great deal MIDI keyboard controller connects directly to a computer with a USB / MIDI. I have a BOSS GT-10 and can be connected directly to a computer via a USB port for the MIDI to the computer. I tried to find an owner's manual for the GT-4, but could not. GT is a prefix used by Roland / BOSS effects processor, but not a list on its website. Therefore, I could not know if the GT-4 has a USB port or not and, in fact, I'm not sure at this point if entered correctly. I wonder if we refer GT-3, GT-5, GT-6 or GT-8. Anyway, if you have USB connections on the keyboard and the GT-4, then you can connect both via MIDI through USB ports. To obtain a broadcast-quality sound, I recommend using one of the new interfaces Avid Mbox computer via USB for recording. They will work with Logic and Cubase, and if not already have burning software, all come with Pro Tools (which is still the best burning software). – Then, Mbox NEW are the best in state of the art USB computer interface for recording. The sound quality is excellent. I have a Roland Juno-G synthesizer workstation keyboard has midi ports on it and I can connecting my Juno-G to my BOSS GT-10 and Juno-G use as an effects processor for guitar. On another level, I can use the GT-10 effects from the keyboard. You could also start from midi keyboard through the GT-10 USB to the computer. However, I can record everything through an Mbox and Pro Tools to get the best sound recording. Not sure if I can help here, but most midi to computer connections are made through a USB port. Can midi midi to the GT-4 and the keyboard, but I'm not sure what would help him to do. The best recording of advice I can offer is the NEW Avid Mbox box. The truth is rarely recorded in midi at all, because the audio sounds that come from my Juno-G and GT-10 is superior to the midi sound capability I have in my team. Therefore, I believe that once the recording software and you can try different connections, you will be able to decide what works best for you.
