Ok well i just got this guitar and i have really go clean tones so i dont need those. But im having difficultly finding a good eq on my amp that brings out the great sounds of this guitar. Rickenbacker. It's so good. I do not have a person but I'm saving up for one. I borrowed from my uncle for a few weeks and I had so many comments on the look and sound. The sound is so unique. I have a Fender P bass now, but I would swap it for a Rickenbacker daily.

I need someone to tell me what the difference is for every Ernie Ball Bass string set and then I need to know which one sounds better for slap pop, preferably on a Squier by Fender Vintage Modified Jazz Bass, the answer with the most details gets 5 stars.
Hey, Ive been playing bass a long time, and I currently use the EB Slinky 5. I have an old Squire Jazz as well amongst others. I don’t do much slapping myself, but I think you’d want to go to the Super Slinky. It’s a lighter and brighter string which will give you nice crisp pops, however it is a little rougher on the fingers if you don’t have good callouses built up yet. The Regular Slinky strings are a little warmer sounding and smoother to play.
A lot also depends upon your playing style. Are you hard on the strings, or do you have a softer touch and lots of gain/headroom. If you play hard, then I’d probably think about the Power Slinky Round Wounds.
Of course, the best place to get advice on this is from the experienced staff at the music shop where you purchase them, and you may also be able to try out different strings on the axes they have there.

I have a guitar that I cannot find anything on> I want to know the maker and possible year it was made.
It is electric, possibly vintage, it looks like a fender stratocaster, but there is no word fender on it anywhere, It has a plate on the back with serial # 099629. On the top of the neck, it says series 70 or series 7?

Since strats are the most copied guitar shape in the world.. without a logo its going to be pretty hard to narrow down.
If you have the time. Try taking the neck off the guitar and seeing if there is any id in the neck pocket or on the neck.
The serial number is useless without the company its made by.
